Week 3,  26-Feb 1, Network - Get working with one another. Network with the Canvas Minecraft MOOC starting at the beginning of Week 3. Those of us enrolled can start following it and report back to any who have not been able to enroll.

#EVOMC15 participants continue to blog and share builds and YouTube video embeds with one another

Our syllabus goals starting this week will reflect those of the Canvas MC MOOC, which are (throughout the Canvas course)
 - Introduction to Minecraft and MinecraftEDU
 - setting up your own server
 - Managing classes
 - creating context and subject specific materials
 - explore example lesson and curriculum plans on Canvas

Jeff Kuhn's course correspond with this plan ...
Let's Play - learning how to utilize more advanced features of Minecraft for the classroom including the set-up and running of servers
Week 1 - Jan 12-18, Orient - figure out who we are and why we are here. Buy Minecraft from http://minecraft.net. Serious participants will have to invest $20 to stay in the game through to week 2.  Grab a space in https://www.canvas.net/courses/minecraft-for-educators before it fills up

Jeff Kuhn is providing materials from his parallel course:
Leaning Back vs Leaning Forward - a general discussion of games and how they are designed for engagement vs a more traditional education content-delivery approach.

Participants will need to purchase MC this week, and we'll explain how that is done (we are sorry for this unavoidable $20 outlay, but the game is not free)
